Angelica hydrosol organic

Our Bioflore hydrosols are 100% pure, preservative-free and of food-grade quality. They can be used both internally and externally, for skin and hair care.

Angelica (Angelica archangelica) is a large umbelliferous plant that often grows near rivers or in damp, lightly shaded soil. We find these medicinal plants eminently poetic in spring, with their elegant habit and beautiful umbels (totally subjective opinion from an herbalist).

Originally from Scandinavia, the first uses of ‘angel weed’ in phytotherapy date back to the 12th century. Renaissance doctors nicknamed it the ‘Root of the Holy Spirit’ because it was reputed to prevent and relieve a wide range of ailments.

In aromatherapy, its essential oil is known for its digestive and anxiolytic properties. We are delighted to now offer you a hydrosol made from organic Angelica roots grown and distilled in France using spring water.

Rare and very fine, with its sweet, balsamic scent, Angelica archangelica hydrosol is renowned for the following properties:

• Digestive and eupeptic: tonic for gastric secretions
• Carminative: relieves bloating and aerophagia
• Mild antispasmodic for menstrual cramps
• Analgesic: helps restore movement (after an accident or in cases of inflammatory pain)
• Anti-stress: Angelica root is known to relieve stress and anxiety, while also having a sedative effect.
• Harmonising & balancing the nervous system: soothing & general tonic, it is useful in cases of physical and nervous fatigue.

It can be used for digestive problems to aid digestion, prevent gas and bloating, or to calm prolonged stress, fatigue or anxiety.

This hydrosol is most often used internally, on an occasional basis:

• 1 to 2 tablespoons diluted in 1 litre of water, to be drunk throughout the day, or 1 teaspoon in a cup of water, to be drunk after a meal.

• For oral use, do not use during pregnancy or while breast-feeding.
• For oral use, not suitable for children under 3 years of age.
• Follow the recommended dosage.
• Warning: this hydrosol is photosensitising. Do not expose to the sun after use.

The 200 ml bottles combine lightness with optimal protection: an aluminium outer shell and an inner layer made from food-grade, bisphenol A-free resin, providing an effective UV barrier and good thermal insulation. This choice also helps to reduce the carbon footprint thanks to the lightweight packaging.

We also organise the recycling of the aluminium: the bottles can be returned to Bioflore in Wavre or to L’Herboristerie de Louise in Brussels, to be sent to a company that recycles and reuses the material.

If you’d like to use this hydrosol as a mist, a spray nozzle is available for purchase: simply screw it onto your bottle and reuse it on your future bottles. An economical and eco-friendly solution that helps reduce waste.

As they contain no preservatives, we recommend storing our hydrosols in the fridge to best preserve their quality and avoid exposure to temperature fluctuations.

Once opened, we recommend using them within 3 months.
